The vietnam war Story of lieutenant mike littell

Heather Thomasson came to us hoping to learn what her father did during the Vietnam War. She and her family knew only that their late father and grandfather served in the Marines during Vietnam — that was it.

What we uncovered

We traced Littell’s role as a data automation and logistics officer with Headquarters Squadron-1, 1st Marine Air Wing. Serving across Okinawa and Iwakuni, Japan during the final years of the Vietnam War, he helped streamline supply and airlift operations that kept troops equipped across the Pacific. Our research revealed how his work supported tens of thousands of pounds of monthly cargo, redeployments and humanitarian airlifts, a critical but often unseen mission that sustained Marine aviation as the war drew to a close.

Your Veteran’s History turned his story into a visual timeline.
