Roy Stanford Mitchell’s World War II Service
Roy Stanford Mitchell served with C Company, 47th Armored Infantry Battalion, during World War II. Trained as an anti-tank crewman and later serving as a radio operator and light mortar crewman, he supported combat operations from France and Luxembourg into Germany, including the brutal fighting in the Hürtgen Forest.
