Robert Dean’s
World War II Service
Robert Dean served as a Marine aviation mechanic with Service Squadron 21, Marine Air Group 21, in the Pacific. From Hawaii to the Solomon Islands, he rebuilt airfields, serviced combat aircraft and kept planes flying during major operations, including Bougainville, sustaining Allied air power after Pearl Harbor in wartime conditions.
Robert Dean’s Service Memorial
Robert Dean’s daughter, Tanya, came to us like so many families do - wanting to better understand what her father did during his service as a U.S. Marine in World War II. He rarely spoke about the war, leaving much of his story unknown. Through this Service Memorial, Tanya now has his service proudly displayed in her home, preserving his legacy for generations to come.
