Jack Wilkinson’s World War II Service

Jack Wilkinson served as a U.S. Army rifleman during World War II, first guarding vital North Atlantic supply routes in Iceland and later fighting with Company I, 23rd Infantry Regiment, through the Battle of the Bulge and into Germany. Wounded by artillery fire in Belgium, he received the Purple Heart and later earned the Bronze Star for advancing under fire against German positions.
