Joe Alcantar’s
World War II Service
Joe Alcantar served as a machine gunner with Company M, 261st Regiment, 65th Infantry Division during World War II. Deploying to Europe in 1945, he fought through France and Germany, providing critical fire support in heavy combat as Allied forces pushed toward the war’s end. His service placed him at the center of some of the division’s hardest fighting in the final months of the war.
Joe Alcantar’s Service Memorial
Joanna Frias came to us wanting to understand her grandfather Joe Alcantar’s World War II service, and like many families, they had almost no idea what he did. We uncovered Joe’s story and translates it into a clear, visual Service Memorial. Joanna gave the finished memorial to her dad as a gift, and for the first time, the entire Alcantar family now knows and can share the full story of Joe’s service.
