Dorsey Plunk’s
World War II Service
Dorsey Plunk enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 as World War II came to a close. Serving aboard the USS Topeka and USS Atlanta, he crossed the Pacific during the occupation of Japan, supporting security and presence missions that helped steady a world emerging from war before returning home in 1946.
Dorsey Plunk’s Service Memorial
Josh Plunk (pictured on the left) reached out to us with a request to uncover two family stories — one from his grandfather, who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and another from his great-grandfather, Floyd Little. We uncovered both stories and delivered them as meaningful Christmas gifts for Josh’s dad, pictured on the right, connecting generations through service, sacrifice and legacy.
